Saab's' are known for sludge issues and synthetic helps prevent that. Make sure to change your oil every 4,000 miles too. I don't recommend taking it to a run of the mill quick change place. Take it to a shop that specializes in Saab. (I recommend doing this for all things concerning your Saab.)
